How it works
Eight steps, and you keep the last one.
Outsourcing goes wrong when nobody can say who is holding what. This is the whole engagement written down, from first call to filing, so there is no part of it you have to guess at.
Who holds what
Engagement- Client
- Your practice, always
- Advice
- Your practice
- Production
- Nexora
- Review
- Nexora CA, then your reviewer
- Sign-off
- Your practice
- Filing
- Your practice, via myIR
- Billing
- Your practice bills the client
From enquiry to filing.
Step 01
Tell us what you need
A short call or the enquiry form. What is backing up, what your deadlines look like, and roughly how much work you are thinking about. No obligation attached to this conversation.
Step 02
We learn how your practice works
A proper discovery session: your software, your workpaper index, your review checklist, your file naming, your deadline calendar, and whether your team lives in Teams, Slack or email. We write it down and work to it.
Step 03
Send the work securely
Source records, the trial balance, or direct access to the client file under a named login. Everything moves through the encrypted portal. Nothing moves as an email attachment.
Step 04
The job is allocated
Assigned to an accountant with the right mix of sector experience, NZ tax knowledge and software familiarity. On ongoing engagements it is the same person each time, not whoever is free.
Step 05
We process it
Reconciliations, draft financials and tax workpapers prepared in your templates by our delivery team in India. Queries are collected as we go and raised in one batch rather than a trickle of emails.
Step 06
A Chartered Accountant reviews it
A senior CA works through a multi-point review: casting, cross-references, balance sheet support, tax reconciliation and disclosure. Open queries are cleared or escalated to you flagged, never left buried in the file.
Step 07
It comes back to your desk
Uploaded to your portal, indexed and cross-referenced, on or ahead of the date we agreed. Anything we could not resolve is listed at the front of the file with what we recommend and why.
Step 08
You review and file
Your reviewer signs it off, your practice files it, and your partner has the client conversation. The advisory judgement and the relationship were never ours to hold.
The first two weeks.
Steps one and two are the ones that decide whether this works. We spend real time there so the rest runs quietly.
Week 1
Scope and paperwork
- Discovery call and workload scoping
- Confidentiality agreement signed
- Engagement terms and pricing confirmed
- Privacy and overseas processing wording reviewed with you
Week 2
Systems and first job
- Named logins issued and access scoped to the job
- Portal set up and tested with your team
- Your templates and checklists loaded
- First job through the full process, start to finish
The awkward ones, answered.
Will you ever contact my clients?
No. We work behind your practice and have no contact with your clients at any point. Queries come to your team, and your team decides what goes to the client.
Do I have to tell my clients the work is done overseas?
Your engagement terms and privacy statement should address overseas processing. Information Privacy Principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020 governs disclosing personal information outside New Zealand, and we give you the detail you need to meet it. See our Privacy Act page for the safeguards we operate under. Your own professional body’s guidance and your legal adviser should have the final word on your wording.
What happens if the work comes back wrong?
You tell us, we fix it, and we do not charge you for the rework. If the same issue appears twice we change the checklist rather than reminding the accountant.
What are the turnaround times?
Agreed per job before we start, based on the file’s condition and your deadline. We would rather quote a date we can hold than a fast one we cannot. If a file turns out worse than it looked, you hear from us early, not on the due date.
Which time zone does your team work in?
Dedicated accountants work your business hours, so there is real overlap for calls and queries. Job-based work runs on our delivery schedule, which often means you send a file at the end of your day and it has moved by the morning.
Can we stop if it is not working?
Yes. Job-based work carries no ongoing commitment at all. Dedicated arrangements have a notice period agreed up front, and access is revoked on the day you tell us to stop.
